Hermes - the delivery variety

Paid for two parcels to be collected from us by Hermes - no-one has appeared, according to their horrible website there is no record although the money for the parcels has gone from the bank account. Everything is done by bloody robots - how on earth can you find a human? Help!

Have you printed and attached a label? When this happened to me I just took the parcel to a Hermes drop-off point rather than bother with the hassle of trying to sort out the collection.

Good point! Thanks for that there's a drop off point where we are going, mind you what a cheek when they charge for collection.

Since I had the experience of Hermes claiming they had tried to deliver to me three times, on two of which I was at home all day, with no card to prove they had tried, and then returning the item to the sender's former address, I have avoided them like the plague.

Hermes drop off point absolutely piled high with parcels awaiting collection too  - looks like they are having a few problems.

I've ordered Hermes pick up from home twice. Twice they've never come. I've just dropped it off at the closest parcel point and it's always got there. I won't bother with home collection anymore as they never come (but do tell you they attempted to pick up which is complete b******t).

I doubt much is getting through in Chiswick today. On top of the new  normal occasioned by street closures and cycle ways we now have the Sutton Court Rd water main leak and an accident on the High Road to add into the equation. Stay at home if you can!

John Lewis use Hermes.Its worked OK for us, but we haven't had to return anything yet

Hermes man arrived late yesterday afternoon but had only been told about one of our parcels at 1 o'clock yesterday! The other that should have been collected on Wednesday he knew nothing about. He did say they were all working flat out, anyway they have now been collected from the drop off point where we took them and on their way!

They are up to their old tricks again. I received an e-mail advising that an item I had bought on e-bay had been delivered; it hadn't. On checking their "proof of delivery" I found a photo of a much smaller parcel outside a door that I did not recognise. After some thought I walked down the road and spotted the photographed door about ten houses down, with their parcel left outside the door as photographed and my parcel left leaning against their outside wall. Once again, my advice would be to avoid Hermes like the plague, and I have advised the e-bay seller accordingly.

This all makes depressing reading. What a horrible world we live in these days. I don’t mean the pandemic either!
