Hounslow Council - All the characteristics of a failing Council
In the last 6 months Hounslow Council has personified all the characteristics of a failing council, constantly trying to cover its tracks. But it is now catching itself out and those cracks are becoming wide and deep.Take the debacle over its traffic schemes:1. Whilst other Councils are wisely ripping their schemes out or at the very least amending them following consultation, Hounslow Council has not learnt any lessons and just starting implementation2. It has been disclosed that the Council are in hoc to the few members of Hounslow Cycling, the local branch of London Cycling Campaign, and an investigation started into a number of Councillors we learn3. Afraid to engage with the wider population knowing that thery are ignoring their duty of care and now with Inconvenient survey results being well inconvenient, Councillors are snatching at phrases to say we need to look at other stuff too……Er what exactly?4. Legal action has started on Chiswick High Road5. The new C9 junction at Chiswick Lane never worked and is having to be redesigned and signals rephased, and the right turn taken out - and traffic forced down side streets. The streets are rammed6. The buses don't run. You have to wait in the cold for a never-ending amount of time whilst a former perfectly good bus shelter goes unused. 7. Realising the issues some wise Labour Councillors have asked for the resignation of two councillors leading the traffic changes8. The Leader of the Council, Steve Curran has briefed Brentford TV to say Cllr Khan should go to save his mates Cllr Dunne and Lambert9. Watching tonights Council Meeting well the evidence is clear for all, petty politics being more important than addressing the real issue that you are making the lives of people a misery.It is a Hounslow tragedy, brought on by Curran, Dunne, Lambert and Khan. The brutal reality is that they all should resign. They have lost the faith of the population of Hounslow.
