I’ve been trying for over 2 months to get some money refunded. Many many phone calls and promises but getting nowhere. Is there a CEO or anyone in authority I could contact. I’m at my wits end. Thanks

Have you told them that you want to escalate your complaint?

If no-one comes up with a contact, the Martin Lewis site often recommends a Company called Resolver. They are free to use with no other charges in my experience. I used them once and got a result very quickly.Maybe have a look via the ML site.Good luck

According to the website ceoemail.com the managing director of British Gas is Matthew Bateman.matthew.bateman@britishgas.co.ukIt won't necessarily get you anywhere but it's worth a try as it may just move your issue a bit further up the chain. I once had a complaint about Marks & Spencer that I was getting nowhere with so I wrote to the Managing Director and got a reply from someone who was clearly employed to deal with this sort of thing. I also got £100 worth of M&S vouchers!

Sometimes a physical letter will elicit a response when emails don't. The postal address for Matthew Bateman is Millstream, Maidenhead Road, Windsor, Berkshire, SL4 5GD
I have been trying to get a refund since last February, written etc., never a reply or anything.

Thank you all so far for some very useful advice. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Letters go straight to the complaints team, nowhere near the CEO or MD. An email has a better chance, especially if you send it out of office hours when the PA has logged off for the night.
