Oh dear, what we do without Michael to keep us entertained. Does he realise how utterly pompous he is? I really don't care how fast a car can go on a test track, as its not going to be driven anywhere in GP at that speed or anywhere close to it. As Michael knows, so its pointless straw man arguments. And as someone else posted, one can be quite mentally alert to drive while physically tired. Also Michael, the key difference between us is I am not lecturing and hectoring other people about how they live their life. You are. Its also possible the earlier poster may have some health issues that preclude a cycle or walk but could allow a gentle swim. I don't know, neither do you. But that doesn't stop you lecturing people and telling them how to live. Again, if you feel that strongly, may I suggest standing as a local councillor and try and get a democratic mandate, rather than pushing you schemes through by inside tracks.Of course, the fact that none of GP residents asked for this specific measure, or were consulted on it. And its perfectly easy to include all GP residents, as you well know.Again, not a peep about the thousands of cars flowing into W4 for the new stadium. I can only assume so as to upset your pals at Hounslow. I would be more worried about all that traffic late at night on our local streets when people are driving home from the match, maybe after a beer or two, rather than a local resident going to the gym. But that's just me, I thought these schemes were meant to help local people.

Michael, its almost as if you and Paul C are clones. you make the same arguments and the same huge blind spots.I am happy to have my views challenged. But your post doesn't address my points, as ever you avoid them with distractions. I try and frame my arguments around facts, logic and likely outcomes, not dogma. I am not telling anyone what to do in their daily life, not once. You are. My 'obsession' with you is that without mandate you have appointed yourself as the local guardian and director of GP traffic planning, helping to design and push through schemes that local residents had no knowledge of any many object to, at least in terms of key aspects of implementation. SO you make yourself the focal point.Regarding the stadium, I am pointing out rampant hypocrisy of your views and the glaring inconsistencies. I would equally apply that to your chums in Hounslow. You want to lecture a local resident for daring to drive half a mile to a gym, making irrelevant arguments about how fast a BMW can go or that it may not be safe to drive when tired. BTW, the world record speed on a cycle is 167mph, on that basis should all road bikes be banned if the rider is tired? Or is that irrelevant. But when it becomes apparent that Hounslow and Brentford are happy to route thousands of vehciles into W4, possibly twice a week, you have NOTHING to say. No concern about through traffic, about safety driving at 10pm at night maybe after a couple of beers, or the pollution they cause, or the added congestion around Chiswick Roundabout? SoTG becomes a quiet street, apart from match days when 150 vehicles drive along it. All looking to exit at the same time as well, that will be fun for neighbours.Either you object to all car use that you deem unnecessary and want less traffic on local roads, or you dont. You cannot pick and choose. The pollution and CO2 created by 1000 vehicles parking at the business park will far outweight any savings from a few locals getting on their bikes once a week.As for new parking restriction, fans will walk at least 20 mins for free parking, so they would need to cover most of GP and Gunnersbury area up to Turnham Green church to stop a lot of match traffic roaming these streets for parking. As I said you seem obsessed with TELLING and LECTURING other people on how to live their lives, telling them how far a journey is acceptable before you get in a car and how travel choices they make. All without knowing anythign about this individuals.Stand in the next local elections. I am sure that would give all your neighbours and fellow GP residents to show what they think. Then you will have a legitimate platform from which to pontificate.
