THANK YOU
Is it the new norm nowadays, for people to simply NOT say thank you with a raise of hand or a head shake when you stop to let people cross the pedestrian crossings or opening a door or just letting someone pass before you in the queue. It’s a mixture of folk - the young, the middle ages and the elderly all seem to think it’s now socially acceptable to NOT say thank you anymore!Understandably, many have their thoughts in another place whilst out and about, as I have been many times but it has never stopped me from acknowledging someone who has kindly stopped to let me cross a dangerous crossing or open a door for me. However, I must commend those who do acknowledge - children; mum’s pushing their little one’s in pram’s even find the time to say thank you; the young; adults and the older ages that still have these universally accepted values by saying Thank You and my hat goes off to those who hold that as part of their natural code of appreciation in todays mixed up world.
