I have to admit I was incensed by the content of the letter I received today and consequently fired off a reply which if left for more consideration may have been better drafted. Anyhow, this is what I sent to the writer of the letter. For the attention of Tom Sharland I have received today your letter dated 19 November concerning matters relating to the alterations made to vehicular access to a number of roads. I would comment as follows:In the second para' you state "and improves local public space. It helps deliver Council priorities to improve air quality and road safety and address the climate emergency"Surely this prejudges the entire issue. These are supposed to be, as you state, trial measures. Given that large scale traffic jams have occurred in Chiswick and resultant pollution has increased it does nothing to improve air quality or address the climate emergency. The word "help" is inaccurate in this context. I would also refer you to the thousands of complaints the council has received concerning these so-called temporary trial measures. Strand-on-the Green/ Thames Road - Trial Access only ZoneIn the second para' you state  "but not passing through both points as part of a longer journey. This will be monitored at both entry and exit points to the zone to enforce against traffic trying to drive through".Does this mean that provided you enter and leave the zone by passing through the same camera access is possible without penalty?Furthermore you state "vehicles will be timed and a pre-determined set limit will determine if vehicles are travelling through, with penalty charges issued accordingly".I can find no information defining the time limit anywhere. Can you please  tell me how long this period is?Again I refer you to the question immediately above. Should someone enter and leave passing the same camera how does this meet with the definition of "travelling through? You refer to "http://tinyurl.com/ thames road" I have checked the first 10 pages of this website and cannot find any information relating to the above. Please tell me which of the web entries specifically will answer my questions.Grove Park SchoolIn the first para'  you mention"residents who live within the zone, visitors to residents" etc.,How are these visitors defined. How will ad hoc visitors be monitored? Are you proposing that all visitors are to be registered for an exemption? The information provided in this letter does not adequately explain the operation of this matter. You refer to "www.hounslow.gov.uk/schoolstreets" I have checked this website and cannot find information relating to the above. Please tell me which of the web entries specifically will provide the necessary information.Reference to "www.tinyurl.com/south chiswick" is made supposedly to provide information on the three schemes. In your letter all references to websites are nothing but obfuscation. Please be more specific about scheme details if you intend to refer to facts.Trial process"Consultation happens during trials"This must mean that trials are based upon designs which do not necessarily meet with information provided by affected residents. If the trials are proved to be flawed where will the money come from to reverse the changes? Objections to several parts of the overall scheme have already been expressed by the emergency services as well as thousands of residents. "Some may feel some measures have unintended or unforeseen consequences and may need to be amended or even removed altogether" This is a statement of the obvious without  any explanation of how redress will be achieved should it prove necessary. Please elucidate.I have provided my feedback on all the schemes as suggested. I await your information regarding the points I have raised.Jeff Cope
