What do we think Should Borris have sack her ?

Zilch Totally unimportant at the moment. That is unless you sit on the other side. But demands from others allways come back to haunt ones own party. Is the home secratary upto the job is more of a question. Ive lost complete interest right now

What? Sack a Brexit loyalist for a spot of inadvertent psychotic bullying? Easy mistake to make in the rough and tumble of politics today. I was appalled when Theresa May sacked her simply for showing a little initiative and running her own foreign policy with the Israelis that was not quite in tune with the fuddy duddy government policy of the day.

For years we had the spectacle of an unelected mate running the show until he apparently overstepped the mark and departed last week. Now we have the spectacle of a Minister holding one of the offices of state being taken to a tribunal and a report upholding the charges of bullying and still they defend her. 'Infantilising' was the phrase used for Boris saying she didn't mean it, as if she were some two year old demanding her sweeties. To try and make a case by making assumptions that these accusations are racist is pretty low. Are we supposed to believe that a senior government minister would really stand for that from staff members? There are laid down procedures and complaints mechanisms in those cases which Ms. Patel would absolutely be fully aware of.

The new Spitting Image is a bit so-so IMO, but the portrayal of Priti as a dominatrix murmuring right wing fantasies as Michael Gove apparently pleasured himself rather hit the nail on the head I thought!

Only those who are out of their depth and unable to recognise their own incompetence resort to shouting, swearing and bullying. Patel should go because of the root cause, her dangerous uselessness, more than any bullying. But as has been noted, a loyal acolyte won’t be kicked out by Johnson no matter what they say or do. Loyalty is more important than ability or achievements.

"The Prime Minister has full confidence in Priti Patel" - equals death knell. She has also offered a 'fulsome' apology. I wonder if she knows the meaning of 'fulsome'? Probably not. I reckon she'll be gone before much longer, and in close contact with her agent and a suitable publisher. Hardly a 'thug', Basil.

It seems impossible for politicians and aides to say sorry for their behaviour, eg Corbyn, Cummings, Patel. These days if employed by a business would be out on their ear.

I am staggered, absolutely staggered that a man who supplied the address of a journalist to a friend to enable that friend to administer a beating should then defend a bully. I also wish, looking at the protective cordon that has suddenly sprung up around Ms Patel, that that individual had moved as swiftly and as decisively to throw a protective ring around our care homes earlier this year.

Spin doctors have been around for years and became more prominent in the Blair years Alistair Campbell. I am no fan of Patel, she has an arrogant manner about her just an observation unfortunate for her.  Bullying comes in many forms and apparently she was being ignored by the department so both sides are at fault if this is in fact true. Sadly none of us will really know what was going on and politics gets in the way. Jeremy Corbin and Labour Party can hardly claim the moral high ground here given all their bullying issues.

It further judged that, despite mitigations, the ministerial code was breached.Patel should resign or be sacked.Instead, Johnson has ignored his own independent advisor, and it is he (Sir Alex Allan) who has resigned in response.Squalid.

I contrast this situation with the resignation of Amber Rudd. Given wrong information by her civil servants, she mistakenly used it and then resigned with dignity.

Equally appalling are the comments from Tory MPs who have been told to support her. Basically, they all say how nice she is and that they have never seen her being horrible. They conveniently forget that they have not worked for her and there is an independent report stating that she has broken the ministerial code. And the small matter of the person who was awarded £25k of taxpayers’ money via tribunal because of being bullied by Patel and driven to a suicide attempt.

So we are all saying the civil service is perfect and has no questions to answer? Interesting we don’t elect them and I am guessing many are totally incompetent in a job for life maybe it is time to stand up to them who are supposed to be non political, in today’s age very difficult. So someone rocks up and shakes them up they resign on a big package paid for by the tax payer not to mention their pension. There are always more than 2 sides to every story In politics I don’t buy this one....resignations to gain maximum payoff?

Whoa! Drain the swamp!Hi. I understand your desire to defend those who are in your political party. But please think a bit first. Patel was proven to have stepped out of line (out of agreed ministerial norms). There is no doubting that she was abusive. She behaves that way because she is inadequately skilled for her post. Not because she was being blocked or hindered or subverted. But because she is crap. No civil servant can solve crap. So stop pretending that you are Donald.
