BT scam

Over the last 3 days both at in MIL’s place in Wiltshire and again here at home in Chiswick, we have been fielding persistent calls ie several times a day, supposedly from BT technical saying there has been illegal activity and our internet service will be shut down in 24 hours. This is undoubtedly a scam and in London we are not with BT.Don’t be taken in and if you have to say ‘hello’ twice or more just put the phone down.  If it is a genuine caller they will call back.

My own rule is that if there is a pause of more than about 2 seconds after I say 'Hello', the phone goes down.
