My neighbour has just sent me a photo of Sainsbury's loo rolls' shelf and it is completely empty. What a bunch of arse wipes some people are!Why aren't Sainsbury's restricting particular items to two per person, as are Waitrose?

I got my flour from Outsider Tart during the 1st lockdown. They always had a huge variety of flour. I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't have all the other ingredients you are looking for.

To spare his blushes (!) that's David's place - he has already come to the aid of frustrated bakers.....

Agree Jill, Lidl have said they will stop customers from trying to take more than a reasonable amount of anything - and quite right too. Quite why those morons clearing the shelves yet again cannot understand there's plenty of everything to go around - there were no supply problems last time, empty shelves caused by selfish, thick idiots with no thought for anyone but themselves.

Supermarkets are there to sell. They need profits, if people dont buy profits will fall and more unemployment will follow.

We appreciate Supermarkets are there to sell and make profit, however this does not mean they cannot assist by limiting how many of certain items - such as toilet rolls. It really is not rocket science.

We saw in March that shortages caused by panic buying were temporary. My own judgement was that in a place like Chiswick repeat behaviour would not occur. Clearly I am wrong.

Shopped today in Sainsbury's. Loo rolls in abundance, but pasta shelves empty.

"Quite why those morons clearing the shelves yet again cannot understand there's plenty of everything to go around - there were no supply problems last time, empty shelves caused by selfish, thick idiots with no thought for anyone but themselves".Perhaps they are shopping for their friends/neighbours/relatives who are unable to get out, and are glad for the help and assistance. Hardly 'thick idiots'.

Why do the Brits associate loo paper with upcoming armageddon? There must be more loo paper in home storage than megatons in Glen Douglas. To be used when the enemy is at the gate?

Perhaps they are shopping for their friends/neighbours/relatives who are unable to get out, and are glad for the help and assistance.Perhaps they are, but if that were true, it would suggest that demand from the people they were shopping for has suddenly and dramatically increased over the last few days.

The elderly who want to self isolate need extra supplies in, cannot imagine they all eat pasta though.
Janice Evans ● 2186d
If they are shopping for neighbours or people who need assistance why have their shopping needs increased recently? As someone just pointed out do they suddenly need more pasta? It doesn't make any sense as there's plenty of stock.
Basil Finnis ● 2186d
You buy more pasta knowing everone else is going to buy extra pasta which in return may not allow you to be able to buy any pasta. Its a reaction to other peoples reactions which in return causes empty shelves

Spot on Julian.
Vulnerable people and the elderly carb loading on pasta.
Em, I don't get it either.
