Andrew, I understand some people, of which it sounds like you are one, enjoy shopping for food. But we have all had to change our habits in the face of this pandemic, and usually (depending which online shopping supermarket you choose) the minimum order level is pretty low, around £40.00. If you drink alcohol, a few bottles of wine will cover a lot of that and you can keep for years if you don't drink regularly and you can order just as much food/household goods as you need a couple of times a week if you want as long as you meet the minimum threshold. It's pretty easy to get over the minimum order level given how expensive goods are these days. I tend to have a biggish online shop once a fortnight and if I run out of anything, Ocado Zoom has been brilliant, same day delivery. Personally, I don't regard food shopping as a social activity, more of a nightmare chore, but as you say, we are all different. I did use to get the bus down to the High Road occasionally to browse or pick up a few light things, prescriptions, light toiletries etc and to meet friends, or even a cab to pick up something heavy. I wouldn't do either now due to Covid and the road changes.
