Lots of rescues are now starting to reopen. As above, Mayhew, Battersea, Blue Cross, Celia Hammond, Hounslow Animal Rescue. Also if you don't mind travelling for the right kittie, Heathlands Animal Rescue near Royston, Herts, has been overwhelmed with cats and kittens they took in from a hoarding situation. But also contact your vets - a friend of mine has just adopted a pair from a litter that the vet arranged foster for, or will know of pregnant Mums whose kittens will need to find new homes when they are ready. And ask everyone you know, the grapevine is usually really good at knowing about accidental pregnancies and babies who will need homes. Or, if you fancy a specific breed, look at the rescue organisations listed per breed on the GCCF website (General Council of Cat Fanciers) who are widely regarded as the gold standard when it comes to breeders, but they also have rescue links per cat breed on their site. Be patient, look at the type, parentage if you can get the info, health, make sure you meet your adoptee with its Mum (unless in a rescue) - kitten farming as well as puppy farming is rife and disgusting, always see it in its home environment (no drop-offs) and above all personality, although some cats who are very shy initially will blossom when they feel safe and loved. Good luck.
