Channel 63 'Blaze'.

I have a Panasonic DVD player/recorder, long out of guarantee, which seems to have been colonised by a channel called 'Blaze', number 63. I can play DVDs, watch programmes from my hard disc, but every time I try to record, either direct from transmission or from the programmes stored on the Tivo box (it's a Virgin package), I get only whatever Blaze was transmitting at the time. This has been going on for at least 2 months, and I'm increasingly frustrated. Has anyone else had this nuisance?  How can I get rid of it? I'm ancient, not very adept technically, but would welcome advice, thanks in advance.

Hi Arnold.  That's an interesting problem!Blaze is broadcast on channel 63 on Freeview and channel 216 on Virgin TV, via the TiVo box.  Are you saying that both your Panasonic recorder AND your TiVo box are showing Blaze programmes when you play recordings?Regarding the TiVo, do you normally setup recordings via the programme guide or do you set them up manually?

The DVD recorder has an internal tuner, as do the TV and the Tivo box. Which can be a cause of confusion.At a guess the DVD recorder has been set to record from the internal tuner. Which is actually the defaultin any case. This is regardless of what appears on the TV at the timeof recording, which is the output of the TV or Tivo box tuner.There should be a menu option on the DVD recorderto change the input. This will be something like AV1, AV2. AV simply means Audio visual and appliesto any device such as a Tivo box which connectedto the recorder. The number of AV's depends onthe number of available sockets on the back of therecorder.The menu options will probably be MENU then RECORDINGor similar. Or just keep scrolling through menus untilyou come across AV1 etc and choose that.michael adams...

Thanks to both. My wonderful grand-daughter came unexpectedly  this morning, and solved the problem, though she isn't familiar with my devices. Apparently, the Blaze channel had replaced the A2 setting showing on the display of the recorder, Search me why this happened. Anyway she rectified it and also solved a problem with my Blu-ray player as well. These youngsters eh? They really show oldsters like me how to do things.
