Turning left from Chiswick High Road onto Acton Lane
I know this has been raised before on the forum, as have the other countless and damaging changes to Chiswick's roads and access, but what on earth is the point of the new 'bus island' that has sprung up just before the turning onto Acton Lane?I agree with some other posters that it looks as if you can't turn left anymore, and with Fishers Lane out and also TGT, this would mean a trip all the way down to Goldhawk Lane for any residents of Bedford Park and North Chiswick in general.I now know this is not the case, but confusing or what? It also means that whether you are turning left or going straight on, you have to filter into one lane on the right, whilst buses, which are all going straight on, have to now cut across from the left.Last night, on the way back from the M4, I had to stop before a green light whilst two buses cut across me to go straight on. I had to wait, unable to turn left until they had gone, holding up other cars behind me who also wanted to go straight on.As with many of these other changes, I just don't see the point of this addition? We are supposed to give way to buses in any case, so I don't see how the previous layout would have been causing anyone any issues, unlike now.Surely it is about time all these changes are challenged appropriately and reversed?
