Lost diamond stud earring

My mum lost a small diamond stud earring set in yellow gold on Friday.  Likely to have been on Glebe St/Devonshire Road/M&S/Hogarth Health Club. If anyone finds one please let me know.  They were an engagement gift from my dad, 45 years ago  :-(

Hi JojoHow sad for your Mum. My suggestion would be to put some notices on trees offering a cash reward. I really hope she gets it back 🙏

Has she thoroughly looked in all the clothes she wore that day? Not just pockets but under collars, in hems and lining? Did she go in a car at any point? Have a thorough search there, look under seats. Have a look in shopping bags. Also look in her bedroom in case it had been caught up in clothing and fell off when undressing. If sadly the day comes when you conclude it is lost forever I suggest you convert the remaining one into something that your mother would use: a pendant perhaps?

I have found that you need to be careful with earrings when wearing a mask - same goes for specs. The ear thingys seem to hook onto things. Hope you get the earring back - really horrible to lose something of such sentimental meaning.

A friend found her mother's gold necklace in the hoover bag...

I was also once lucky enough to find an earring I'd lost as I got back into the car having retraced my steps. I suspect it had caught on the seatbelt.  Usually though they are attached to woollen scarves.  It drove me to occasionally wear favourite odd earrings rather than not wear them at all. :)  They were fun ones though and having a pendant made out of the remaining one is a great idea.

Hi JojoI found a diamond stud earring today in Ravenscourt Park (which I realise is not that close to these areas, but could it possibly be your mother's?) Perhaps DM me with a photo and I'll let you know if it's the same?

Hi Cara, this sounds promising.  I've asked my mum to drop the stud into my office so that I can take some photos to send to you.Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions.  The idea of turning a single stud into another piece of jewellery is an excellent idea.  Although I'm holding out that it might turn up!!!  Fingers crossed for Cara's find being the one.

I do hope it's a match!  Will wait to hear from you.
