Not quite as big I'll admit - but just this last week, we have had Hounslow Highways arrived digging up the rear access roads where we live. These roads put in years ago to facilitate rear entrance refuse collections, now provide access to garages and back gardens for residents and are the responsibility of the housing department. Not one person has had any sort of notice/consultation through their door, nor has any sort of public type notice been put up. It has taken me four days to find out just what is going on and why as there is absolutely nothing wrong with the road surface, it's hardly the M1 although it is used daily by several residents.Naturally I got the usual officer speak waffly nonsense by way of an explanation - which totally ignored my complaint about no-one being informed of what was going on, and the fact we came face to face with a digger when leaving to go shopping. It seems this is all part of some three year programme - and it's on the Hounslow website and Hounslow Highways who are the contractor for housing put up notices to keep people informed of works - really? Also they do occasionally with some temporary orders publish these in the West London Gazette? Well who knew that? And where can that be found?I am sorry to say I really went for one of our local councillors who passed this tripe on to me - clearly it was the normal shut up and go away crap designed to bat away any criticism and not deal with the problem. Do these morons really think we all spend inordinate amounts of time scrolling through the diabolical Hounslow website just in case there might be something going on locally we should know about. How dare they write to an elected member (and me) and say they put up notices when I told them they certainly had not, why aren't housing monitoring their contractor Hounslow Highways? And why can't these idiots just tell us? Someone needs to seriously get a grip at Hounslow - it is an omnishambles.
