Scams : Ripping off the Elderly?

Fiona Foster investigates.I had one of these 3 weeks ago.Email arrived in the middle of the night supposedly from my next door neighbour who happens to be a doctor with a wonderful husband and I knew that they were in Ireland due to the death of a relative.“ I am housebound at present and feeling really unwell but I need to send an Amazon gift card for my nieces birthday but my card doesn’t work ( don’t know why ).Could you just do this for me and I will repay you.”A well known scam from the US. Typically for £200 - £300.
