World Sepsis Day - please share the signs

Hi everyone. Today is World Sepsis Day and our friends at the UK Sepsis Trust are raising awareness of this potentially devastating condition.Sepsis is the third biggest cause of death worldwide. It claims 11 million lives every year, including 48,000 in the UK. That's more than bowel, breast and prostate cancer combined.It's what happens when the immune system goes into overdrive and attacks the body's tissues and organs, and it can arise from any infection, including Covid-19.But sepsis is often treatable if caught quickly so it's important to know the symptoms and what to do if you spot them.Please share the signs and help save lives. Signed.Most clinicians are unaware that a low temperature and low blood pressure are just as relevant in detecting infection and its immune response to it,as having a high temperature.

    Slurred speech or confusion    Extreme shivering or muscle pain    Passing no urine (in a day)    Severe breathlessness    It feels like you’re going to die    Skin mottled or discolouredThank you I wish I'd know about the symptoms a few months ago, as I though the person I was with was suffering with pneumonia symptoms or a Stroke. Anyway help was requested quickly.

Also strange metallic taste in mouth. First symptom I had when I had sepsis. Fortunately hospital staff recognised it as a symptom very quickly.
