Chiswick High Road Closed

Just an alert: Chiswick High Road will be closed Sunday, 27 September. The signs went up today at Chiswick Lane and near the bus garage. No further detail, just that it will be closed at this intersection.

That does not sound good. Imagine if we had a strategic local road, perhaps a designated B road, that could be an important diversion route to ease the gridlock a bit as a diversion route. Otherwise people looking at a 2 mile diversion.

The dot matrix board was being put up as I walked past. I haven't been able to find out any details online either from roadworks.org or anyhere else. There is no indication as to which agency is responsible. For such a major closure to be taking place with no comprehensive attempt to make people aware is just inept.
