ELECTRIC BOILERS

Can anyone give any feedback / advice re electric boilers? I’m looking to replace a gas combi that serves a modest size 3 bed terrace house for hot water and heating, but the research I’ve done seems to say an electric one won’t manage that & they’re only really suitable for smaller properties eg small flats. Any pointers appreciated!

May I suggest that you read this article.https://www.boilerguide.co.uk/articles/best-electric-boilers#advantages-disadavantagesCurrently EBs are expensive to run and only deliver limited hot water.

If you check the cost per KwH with your energy provider for gas against electricity you'll probably find the cost is about 4x as much for electricity. If you currently have gas although maintenance can be higher it will work out cheaper overall. For electricity installation costs are much less because there is no need to provide a gas supply or exhaust flue, maintenance is cheaper but running costs are much higher as stated above.
