Face masks killing wildlife

I became aware of this after being alerted to an article on Google and Facebook. Birds and wildlife are becoming entangled in the strings, so when you dispose of your face mask, just simply cut the strings. If you want more information on this, just Google "face masks wildlife" and lots of info comes up.

Yeah, its not rocket science is it!! People don't give a damn, I've seen them discarded everywhere. It makes me very angry 😠.

Hi JillMaria and I walked in CH this morning and I got there by walking along Dukes Avenue and the number of discarded face masks on the pavement was staggering ! Why are some people such inconsiderate slobs ?

I completely agree.  It is so disgusting and such an obvious hazard. Unfortunately these are littering pavements and parks and nobody else wants to pick them up of course.  You would want to go forearmed with hand sanitiser, litterpicker and plastic gloves and bag etc.  Covid 19 apparently lives three hours on plastic surfaces.Wouldn't it be better to get several reusable ones and make sure that you look after them and wash them?  I just don't get these people who don't care about anyone else and expect everyone else to clear up after them.

I was reading today about this fox that had managed to get himself stuck in a plastic bottle.  Please don't leave litter lying around.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hamps

It would make far more sense if people didn't wear these pointless, stupid masks in the first place.

I do think people should wear masks when going into shops but not over one ear or under their chin.
