.. fruity forum language..
This is by way of an NGO health warning. Since (in case anyone thinks otherwise) I don't represent the wonderful and mysterious all-powerful O'Brien who looks over this forum...Back in the good old days, anyone who wrote the four lettered “F” word full out on the forum was kicked into the long grass within five minutes. Likewise the “C” word (obviously). Their name and post dramatically evaporating into thin air. In this fashion many a soul was cast adrift from the forum, the only route back being a written apology to O'Brien after a suitable period of devout contrition had elapsed. It was all very exciting. A bit like Chicago in the 1920's.However - over the past year I've noticed several examples of posters getting away scot-free with this exact same crime. I was beginning to suspect a change of regime. A new flimsy tolerance similar to the good old BBC.Beware! This afternoon I bumped into a close friend in the Terrace (a wonderful contributor to this place and a thorough gent) who told me he has recently been sent into exile after getting over-excited one night and inadvertently crossing the forbidden line. Maybe a fine malt had something to do with it? I don't know. I wasn't there. His offence is admitted. But I somehow doubt he'll ever get down to writing that letter.. Forum's loss I'm sorry to say. Big loss too. Meanwhile be warned. It would appear that O'Brien has taken to enjoying the occasional nap. So although a few criminals do sometimes slip through the net, those caught are still sent from this courtroom to 'another place' from where they will take the long drop...Stay alert..Think about it for sure...Just don't!PS: Apologies for use of phrase “scot-free” - no offence intended to Scots....
