Black Cat Found on the Avenue

Not by me but this is from Pets Reunited More details here

This cat is a bit of a mystery. A very similar-sounding animal was posted as missing on Pets Reunited almost 18 months ago with the reference ALP362746. The collar is quite distinctive, and obviously very worn, way past the point at which it should have been replaced. Strangely attempts  to contact the owner via Pets Reunited have produced no result. Anybody got any bright ideas? The lady who is being visited has also posted on Next Door.

As I said — no connection just seeking to be helpful. The picture used having appeared for an earlier disappearance could simply be explained by a more up to date one not being available. Not sure what you mean by 'the lady who is being visited'.

Sorry - I'll try not to over-complicate this but it's difficult!Recently two ladies in the same area posted separately on nextdoor.co.uk that they were being visited by a very friendly but hungry black cat and asking if anyone knew who it belonged to. The picture on this chiswickw4 thread showing the ragged yellow collar is that cat. Then someone else posted with a link to the Pets Reunited site about a black cat called "Hattie" which had gone missing almost 18 months ago in the same general area. The picture accompanying this report showed an identical black cat wearing a yellow collar (not frayed).  One of the original Next Door posters contacted Pets Reunited but surprisingly has had no response so the net is being cast wider. If you want the full picture I'm afraid you'll have to look at nextdoor.co.uk.

Ah - I've found out how to copy a link on nextdoor.com.https://nextdoor.co.uk/post/17592195154721?init_source=copy_link_share

I can't see the thread as you need to register and as I've only recently managed to extricate myself from NextDoor I'd rather not do that. In a nutshell, this cat is visting various properties in the area and nobody knows who owns it?

That's it. The missing cat is apparently microchipped, so I suppose that eventually there will be an answer one way or the other. Sorry about nextdoor.co.uk - there's no way around registering if you want to view.

I can’t help re the cat, but I gave up on Next Door because of the constant flood of emails from them.

You can opt out of receiving emails. I did.
