Thanks for posting the link ... so I have a chance to fully endorse the changes to Turnham Green.  Furthermore I have an opportunity to suggest they go further with a move to a single carriageway to really allow those retailers with imagination to seize the opportunities pedestrianisation could bring.  Great cafes and restaurants will always encourage people in.Those who are concerned about getting to the butchers or dry-cleaners ... those retailers need to address that with a return to using delivery services like, at least with the butchers, in my day when the lad on his bike would tour the local streets with the orders to those not as mobile.It just takes some new thinking.A quick straw poll round the lounge here in the home finds most people in favour of changes to TGT and nearly everyone in favour of shutting Fisher Lane...it is telling that most of the transgressors of FL are white vans and four wheel drives ... the worst of W4It is a glorious traffic free future ... embrace it :)

Please take the time to complete the online feed-back questionnaire as comprehensively as possible. Do not just respond to the one that affects you most of all. Many of these measures are linked and if you like or dislike one you may equally well like or dislike at least one other.

It is a badly designed form encouraging one to comment on a specific road measure and then finding right at the end that one can only respond once to the survey.I bet that the traffic department won't analyse replies which consider multiple points as it will be too difficult for them to link them to specific proposals. Also their statistics of the number of objections will be artificially low as one response will count as one objection even if it covers multiple proposals.

It just takes some new thinking."As I recall these delivery services all involved an additional charge. Not every one by any means will be able to "absorb" such charges or think them worthwhile. Such delivery services assume a stay at home spouse or a maid in a pinafore to accept the delivery. Those days are long gone. But hey working from home may make this a runner once again - who knows. The trouble is that it is just those kind of services that the many 24/7 road closures south of the A4 will make so much more difficult unless of course they are by bike - yes dream on.David - you have some good ideas but I have to politely ask who appointed you as dictator to say how your fellow human beings must behave? Hounslow Council's undemocratic tendencies seem to be spreading.

I have responded and filled in the form but I had complained about the entire newly called "South Chiswick" - Grove Park and Strand on the Green - formerly called Grove Park I thought.  For a start why has the Council decided to divide us into 2 sections?  However when I filled in "Other" and entered "All of South Chiswick" my application was refused.  I had to go back and add a single place so I put Hartington Rd but also leaving the "Other" entry  - the form was then accepted but it is the entire area that I am objecting to, so multiple objections NOT just Hartington Rd!  How will Hounslow count that, just as one objection when in fact it is every road closure (except for school streets)??? I shall go back and try filling separate forms road by road repeating everything I have already said.      Like another person here I too was incensed to be asked my sex, age and ethnicsisity - do they give extra points for certain classifications of people?  Outrageous!

These traders, all traders of all kinds, are facing unique challenges unlike any other. And the prognosis is nothing but uncertainty. Each day brings another lurch one way or another so to suggest a struggling business make an investment to fit your purpose is entitled to say the least. How about you donate a delivery bike then? That way these businesses could limit their investment to hiring a person to sit and wait, fingers crossed, for an order to come in that needs to be delivered. Businesses are in survival mode. A bit like bailing out the Titanic and you only want to pour more water into the sinking ship and say, from the lifeboat, bail faster you idiots.

Note that feedback will only be accepted on a specific scheme once a trial has been implemented.Also it is may be worth waiting until enforcement is fully in place before making a comment. At the moment the access restrictions on Fishers Lane/TGT and Devonshire Road aren't operating effectively. Their full impact will only be seen when they are properly enforced.

What if they don't put in place enforcement until towards the end of the trial? They could claim the data shows there has been no traffic displacement and then make the change permanent with cameras belatedly added.

The entire Street closures thing should be torn up!  What an idiot that so called leading Minister Greg Shapps is.  He should not be in any position to be able to foist these idiotic bribes on to Councils - of course they're desperate for the money so will say and do anything to get their mitts on it.  Not all Councils have adhered to street closures though or if they did start with some, they have since listened to their residents and removed them - how come Hounslow Council is not doing this?

Whatever view you might have about what things will be like after enforcement it will only be speculative. If there are no cameras in the next few months we will be getting close to the end of the trial period. It will also allow the council to dodge inconvenient Freedom of Information requests about how much money has been raised by PCNs. After six months they can declare the trial a success and make the change permanent.

Please respond to the consultation, whatever your view.There is now an article on the front page which states:“The scheme has also attracted criticism of road “chaos” from the changes, but Mr Campbell believes he is part of the “silent majority” who believe the move is for the better.”There’s no need for anyone (majority or otherwise)  to be silent on this.
