Come on You Bees

Tense first half and Fulham have Mitro in reserve but I think Brentford have more to offer.A lot riding on this. It will be a massive boost for Chiswick if Brentford win - not just sports fans.

Disappointing result. However, if they get over it and start the new season well they could follow Leeds' example and go up next season without the playoff lottery, which they traditionally don't seem to be very good at. None of the three relegated sides look like bankers to go back up, and there is no-one else in the Championship that should hold any fears for the Bees if they can keep their team together.

Keeping the team together is the issue.NINE times the bridesmaid (nine times in the play-offs without success).  It's what makes being a Bees fan so 'interesting'.Looks like the BMW will be broken up by the end of the week with Benrahma off to Chelsea and Watkins off to Villa.It will take some time to rebuild if they and Mbuemo all leave.

Brentford 3 Bournemouth 1 (3-2 on aggregate). Nothing like doing it the hard way, having to come back from 0-2 down on aggregate, but the new stadium has finally seen a crowd cheering their team on to victory. Fingers crossed for Wembley next Saturday !

You were very lucky to be there. The atmosphere seemed to be amazing.Interesting summer ahead for Brentford. I suspect they may need to be pragmatic and bring in some premier league experience rather than looking to buy quality at low prices, the approach that served them so well in the Championship.

The atmosphere was truly amazing. I've waited since the early 60s for the top flight.Went back to Kew Bridge station to go to the Express Tavern just as the team coaches arrived at Lionel Rd, there were hundreds in the streets and in Lionel Rd itself cheering and singing. That too was truly amazing. COYB

There will be PL experienced players brought in, I think knowing Brentford that will have already been planned, as would a different plan should they not have been promoted.My thoughts re Fulham are that for at least 2 seasons they have relied too much on loan players, 7 the recent and at least 6 the previous. In my opinion loan players know that they will be returning to their home club so do not have the commitment of an "owned" player.I heard Scott Parker saying that he wanted to stop the loan business at Fulham or he would likely leave.

Or look north and see what Leeds did - the only one of the teams promoted last year to not come straight down again. With Roy Hodgson gone, I suspect Crystal Palace may struggle next season.

Francis, not just Chiswick but the whole of this part of West London. I passed by their training ground on Jersey Road this morning for a chat with two ladies on the gate. They're all pinching themselves in disbelief at now being a Premier Division Club. It's been a long time  !!!

Chiswick = west London, Brentford = TW9 post codetherefore not a real west London club. Bit like the 'Sub' Standard including Watford in their review of the Premiership when they are in Hertfordshire.

Hi Peter.Brentford is TW8 postcode. With the upcoming Chiswick Ward Boundary changes some of TW8 will fall within an enlarged Gunnersbury and Riverside Wards.Before 1965...within many of our lifetimesBrentford and Chiswick were sole partners in a West London Borough.

The best work in the community is largely unnoticed by most people, good to see the Bees taking it onboard. My club QPR rose to the challenge with Grenfell and organized the charity match which raised a lot of cash. There's also the great work with the nearby Jack Tizard school for kids and young people with Down's which keeps them going and also gives the kids the chance to appear on the pitch at half-time. Meanwhile in a parallel universe Premiership players are worried about the colour of their new set of wheels!

Richard, starting with the correct positive attitude is always useful.  It is a great achievement to have reached the Premier League, let us watch and enjoy some of the big clubs struggle against the Bees, and there will be some. Let's hope it's many !

Chris, I very much hope that Brentford will do rather better in the premiership in the coming season than the side that beat them in last year's play-off final, Fulham, and one of the sides that finished above them that season, WBA, both of which have come straight back down. If they can follow the example of Leeds (the third team to go up last year) they will have done well, but the odds are against them. Yo-Yoing between the Championship and Premier League is the norm for quite a few clubs, including the two going up with the Bees this season, Norwich and Watford. Let's hope they defy the odds !

Bees have a friendly v MU in Manchester in July. I doubt that will give anything away though.

It was only announced yesterday on the club website. Bees last played MU away in 1975 league cup 2nd round and lost 2-1. It will be interesting this year I think.Game is only available on MU TV atm and I certainly won't pay them to watch it. Ho ho as you say.

A few years ago I saw Brentford's 2nd team play Man Utd's third at Griffin Park.The Bees were a deserved 2-0 up at half time, going on to lose 2-3.They had played Liverpool's 3rd team and Man City's in the previous couple of weeks, winning the first and drawing the second.
