Covid 19 Vacine

I saw the USA representitive to the EU this morning on TV. He was asked about America buying up the world supply of a drug used for treating Covid 19. He said that was so but production was increased so the EU will have some. On the vacine he said the USA was in talks with the EU so that it would be shared fairly. Nothing about the UK. Now we learn that we have not joined the EU scheme to purchase any future vacine. It does not look good bearing in mind the PPE situation this government got us into.

I didn't see the interview today so cannot comment upon what was said.I would point out however the drug in question does not TREAT Covid-19 but lessens the recovery time by about 5 days. The symptoms manifested by Covid-19 are varied and extremely serious affecting a variety of organs. Anything helps but nothing will solve the problem until a vaccine is discovered, tested and produced in hundreds of millions of doses.

It should also be added that the UK is way in front of possibly finding a potential vaccine but heh ho another increasingly desperate post to bash Brexit

Nicholas, this government have this all under control, chill out. We have a world beating track and trace which will get us back on our feet but granted it is behind schedule, sorry we still need to negotiate a few issues with Apple and a few more operating systems which may or may not rely on "wayhey" 5g,and by the time they have it up and running or not, thousands more will have died and there won't be a need to buy any vaccine. So you see how clever "they" are. Everything is all under control and we don't need our EU neighbours either. Now go down the pub tonight, book a table and enjoy your vat free meal and get yourself ratar$ed and tomorrow will be a better day, there's a good chap. Let us all eat and drink this country back to its greatness people!!!!

the UK is way in front of possibly finding a potential vaccine  ummmm and where is the proof of that Paul. Oh silly me, just remembered, silly me, Boris told us that a month ago but we must keep it a secret!😉

I know about what you say, the point is the Americans bought three months of the world supply. So what will happen to a possible vacine. I realise they come first.

The problem with the meal deal is its Mon-Wed and today is Friday.

Let's all blame someone else, people have not been good at abiding by the rules, my thoughts are if we develop a vaccine first I hope it will not be given away like everything else.

If the UK developed the first effective vaccine, it might give us some serious leverage with the Chinese.

Richard Greenhough ● 2307d

We have already signed deals with two of the leading vaccine contenders.

What about the others?
