Given the staff sit down most of the day twiddling fingers waiting for a customer i expect they will be furloughed until October.Sorry

The UK arm of LPQ went into administration, in April I think.  The news from mid-June was that some sort of partial rescue had been agreed, but 11 of the 26 cafés in the UK would close.  I haven't seen a list of the 11 closures.

Sadly, there is no definitive list of branch closures on either the administrator's or the new owners websites.

It didn't great feedback pre-covid if memory serves, but yes, what a space they've got. Probably the best al-fresco area on the High Road.

I don't think it actually opened did it? Since in took back the property for the second time I mean. First time around I thought baguettes were very good, otherwise pretty average.

It did reopen last year but rather half-heartedly I thought. Good soup but that was a bout it. Totally agree though, somebody needs to come along and nab that plot, could be an amazing outdoor space for the right cafe or restaurant.

Agree it's a great outdoor space. Balans used to be really busy during the day and had a good outside atmosphere, but seemed to struggle with the evening trade.

If it was not for the flats above much potential could have been in place. Nice pub with outdoor guest musician/singers in the summer months outside. The fruit and veg stool could have located to the oposite side of windmill road and expanded backwards while the proposed hotel could have been a indoor flee/antiques market. All Hypotheticals that is.
