I have a drawer of videos that I would like to give away - mainly children’s including Lion King etc. I am about to take them to the dump but wonder if anyone has alternative suggestions. Many thanks.

Oxfam on Turnham Green Terrce has a whole section for children's books and videos.

Oxfam is at present closed and as far as I’m aware they and all other charity shops stopped selling videos a long time ago but they do sell CDs and DVDs.

To save you ringing around, none of the charity shops in Ealing take VHS tapes any more. I even offered a full set of Disneys AND a video player on Freecycle - not a single 'sniff' of interest. Neither did they attract any interest as 'penny' sales on eBay. They all went to the recycling centre

Thank you. They are on their way to the dump!

You may find that you can put them in the container for books - I may be wrong here as I'm not sure what happens with the books as such, so check.

Sadly not recyclable so it’s black sack for incineration - not landfill!
Just to note for future ref that unlike the tapes some VHS recorders can still sell second hand from £10 upto £60 for some models. If you have a fully working one with remote it might be worth checking out its value. Obviously some people still buy and use them for some reason unknown to myself other than buying brand new unavailable in ost places
