I've never been a regular reader of the Radio Times - I get as much information as I need from the weekly newspaper I buy. As for the BBC, I often find it hugely irritating, but will always support its existence. The licence-fee system is an acceptable compromise between carrying advertising and constantly having to beg for donations, as happens on the American PBS station (PBS = Public Broadcasting System). In fact, anyone who's spent a period of time in the US and experienced their TV will come back longing for the BBC.
