Staggering hypocrisy.

So Johnson exhorts us to work peacefully together to defeat racism and discrimination. The man who called Moslem women letterboxes, described black people as picaninnies with watermelon smiles and gay men as tank topped bum boys.I won't mention the time he set light to a £50 note in front of a man sleeping rough. Oops.

What gets me is why anyone is surprised by Bozza anymore, rumour has it that both Rishi Sunak and Jeremy Hunt are 'on manoeuvres' sounding out leadership possibilities. The Tories are ruthless when it looks like they are going down the toilet and their ratings are dire to say the least at the moment...........................

Johnson would sue for libel if someone repeats a claim that he did or said something? Seems neither likely nor a libel action with much chance of success. Johnson has built his career and reputation by making contentious and often outrageous statements, in print and in speeches. And making many claims and commitments that are soon shown to be wrong, empty or just hot air. So just how he could claim that his character is demeaned by this is far from credible. He has done that to himself quite successfully with no input from others.

Not just the 'ladies'. There is a little group of pro-Brexit (at all costs) here as in every location. When the news appears to support their destructive cause they post little missives. Remember the "the German car manufacturers will force Markell to bow down to UK demands" rubbish? This local Brexit fan club will stay quiet for a bit. In the same way the government is quietly pushing through acts and legislation that take us away from the EU. Hard exit, harsh free market and US style economics. These are not justifiable - so they stay silent. Let it happen under the covers (of Covid or protests or whatever).

The Brexit fan club stays quiet and will stay quiet because they have won, Alan, and we are leaving the EU with or without a deal next January 31st. No amount of whingeing  and regurgitaing the old arguments from Remoaners is going to change that fact.

Interesting that it is one of those who strongly held the believe that German car manufacturers would swing the EU to accepting a deal that rise up to point up a spelling error. My apology is to correct that spelling error - its Merkel of course. Your action for your error?

I know. But that was a vote on leaving the EU with a great agreement; a promise of even better trading relations than we had when within the EU. That was explicitly what we were told. That vote was for a simple and straightforward pain free exit. Have we won that?

Yes, we are leaving. I totally accept that. . I think it is a dreadful mistake. But I can’t see why it’s still not reasonable to expect Brexiteers to be challenged. And just occasionally admit that they were lied to.

Absolutely right. Interesting how Johnson mentioned the UK as being another EU state during the recent briefing. Probably too much chablis at lunch.
