Alan, I find myself on the same side of the debate as you on a lot of issues. Nevertheless, I have to say, it's time to stop flogging the Brexit dead horse. Society is too polarised for anything that either you or I or Uncle Tom Cobley can say to make a blind bit of difference. You are banging your head against a combination of confirmation bias and tribal epistemology. Even if the Brexiteers recognised the stupidity of the decision to leave the EU, they'd never admit it. It's all part of tribal solidarity. Note how it's the same people who were aggressively pro-Brexit, who wanted to move on from the "bullying" of the poor victim Dominic Cummings, and who now defend the incompetence of the government's handling of the Covid-19 crisis, argue for early relaxation of the lockdown, criticise the recent BLM protests, minimise the extent of racial prejudice in the UK and emphasis the lawlessness of a small minority of protesters. They're a tribe which speaks a different language, and it's a complete waste of time trying to engage with them. Any resulting debate will only generate more heat than light. Brexit is done. We're all screwed. Move on!
