Household Rubbish & Removal Companies

Can anyone please recommend a rubbish removal company who will clear general household items including a double mattress and take it all away?

If you're in Hounslow Borough, the council will take it for a recently reduced price of £40 for up to 5 items.https://www.hounslow.gov.uk/info/20002/recycling_and_rubbish/30/tidy_town_bulky_waste_collection

Thank you for your response Guy. I am in Chiswick but doing a general clearout which will be a lot of old household items so am looking for more of a man and van that can be recommended. Thanks

Be very wary of a ' man with a van'.  Unless he's a license holder, your goods may well end up fly-tipped.

What about a wait and load skip hire. Call local skip companies for quotes. Many offfer that service. Different size skips. You just need to have everything ready to load when they arrive.  You usually get about an hour to load it.

What are the waits like at the HWRCs like at the moment now they are newly reopened and have new restrictions?  Everybody has been talking about queuing for hours.  They were asking for everything to be pre-sorted.There is also www.hippowaste.co.uk.  You can order various sizes of bag and then arrange for collection. You can check that your waste carrier is licensed with the Environment Agency online. You can also use www.trashnothing.co.uk to arrange a no contact collection of various items. You need to be very careful that your waste carrier is licensed as you can also be held responsible and heavily fined if your waste is flytipped instead of legally disposed of.

I have used At Your Disposal several times.  It is a licensed waste carrier - which means the waste won't end up flytipped somewhere - run by Antoine. Contact Antoine on 020 3759 7668‬.  https://aydwaste.co.uk Antoine can often take away the waste on the day he comes to do the quote.  He charges by volume so if you have anything bulky (such as a cupboard) that could be taken part (so it lies flat) it will cost less.  He was recommended to me by a carpenter and I have recommended him to neighbours who have been pleased and booked him again. If you don't want to use Antoine, please use a licensed waste carrier to be sure the stuff won't be dumped round the corner.

"you can also be held responsible and heavily fined if your waste is flytipped instead of legally disposed of."But you won't be. Hounslow is a fly-tippers haven. A free for all!
