Stop and Search Extended in Chiswick
I've received an update from the Owl Messaging service that the police have been given a new Section 60 order which extends their stop and search powers from 4pm today. Unlike the previous one referred to in the report on the front page about the double shooting it covers the whole of Chiswick not just the bit in the north that is in Ealing borough.It would seem a bit much of a coincidence that the new order isn't related to the same outbreak of violence in the original one. There does seem to be a perceived danger that it could spill over into Chiswick so do be careful out there - or better still stay at home!As an interesting aside the order doesn't give the police the power to request the removal of face coverings.
