In the House of Commons. I have been listening to the reading of this Bill off and on for what seems several hours. Following Grenfell and the other fires and the lack of removal of combustible cladding from buildings etc it is interesting to hear all the different MPs talking about the problems that they have had in their constituencies. There are problems with tall buildings and with houses in multi-occupancy, fire risk assessments, residents having to fund walking watches to keep them safe and more. So if you've missed it there is still Hansard to read it in - and hopefully more in the press tomorrow.https://services.parliament.uk/Bills/2019-21/firesafety.html

The Government has bettter things to spend our money on, Philippa - like £100 billions on a railway line between London and Birminngham, and if our Prime Minister had his way, £30 billions on a bridge or tunnel to Northern Ireland.

Grenfell has been forgotten the malfactors getting away, life is cheap, only 72 people died, wake up long investigation, playing for time, should have been finished long ago.

John Public Enquiries tend to be like that. The words "Public Enquiry" sound good but they take far too long to happen. There should be a much quicker assessment of what went wrong as they have with aeroplane crashes. We have Coroner's Reports with Recommendations where nothing happens. The system is broken. I really do suggest that you read or listen to the debate. It was really good. How much of it gets into the Bill is something else. Now is a good time to hear what goes on in Parliament now that we can't go out - a lot of the MPs were taking part using video links so you can't get an impression of what is happening from the few MPs actually in the House. Here's Hansard:https://hansard.parliament.uk/Commons/2020-04-29/debates/F392AA3C-F1D7-4FD4-B2AC-C0E3A6FC0E7B/FireSafetyBillI haven't checked what is on here which is apparently highlights:https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episodes/b01mw321/wednesday-in-parliament
