As a warning to others, here are some details. As we entered the common, before even closing the gate, a white staffie with black eyepatch, accompanied by a brown same breed, launched from the area of the bench 20 yds away. Two young men were with the dogs, and from their behaviour and shouts of 'oh no' they knew what was about to happen. The white staffie attacked, severely mauling my dog. He has at least eight deep puncture wounds, and I believe had they not been pulled off, the white Staff would have killed. I expect this dog has attacked before, and certainly will again. The youths accepted no responsibility at all for this animal's behaviour. I suspect this dog has form, which explains why they were so far off their patch - I think they come from Southfields, as that's where I followed them to. Take care out there.
