I think the Flu mortality figure for 2014/15 is 28,330.Looking at ONS stats for this year, figures for weeks 1 to 12 are similar to average; then in weeks 13, 14, 15 & 16 there is an increase in deaths above the average of 1,011, 6,082, 7,996 and 11,854 respectively; however, only 539, 3,475, 6,213 and 8,578, respectively, of the registered deaths relate to mortalities where COVID-19 was mentioned on the death certificate, which means there was an increase above average in these weeks, where COVID-19 was not mentioned on the death certificate, of 472, 2,607, 1,783 and 3,096, respectively – a total of 7,958.Road deaths should be down as a result of lockdown to help keep the figure down, but additional non-COVID-19 death numbers are soaring.Chris, you can have a go at writing some music on a rainy day like this – maybe a bit of backing music for an advert; but keep at it and you can still make it to the top. It’s hurting but it’s just not working
