The New (unelected) Medical Government

Each day, on the phoney BBC Corona Update Muppet Show, the medical officer is asked about the way forward who, invariably replies: “Lockdown, lots of lockdown, social distancing, vaccines, lots of vaccines, more lockdown blah, blah, blah.”Then the government minister is asked about the way forward who, invariably, replies: “We’ll take the medical advice”.

Indeed so, Steven. I recently had the thought that we might all be better off if the government ditched the experts and instead took advice from a local barrack room lawyer or two.Alas, I fear this will never happen.

In fact, Lord T, you’re just one of us now – your pub title is, effectively, voided – you’re just T from now on. Even Sir Richard Branson’s Virgin Atlantic is all but bust. They’re not mucking about. I always knew that the plan was for a mass knockout of the middle classes, but even I’m surprised at the encompassing class reach of the wipe-out.  You’ll never earn a living, again, and dissent certainly won’t be tolerated; so once you’ve been chipped, or particle vaccinated (however they’ll do it), that’ll be you done. Happy days.

So Chief Medical Officer, Whitty, says 'social distancing' will last until the end of the year, at least. Who voted for him in the last election? Things could be much better in just a few weeks’ time, but the whole year has already been written off over a bit of flu; and all whilst anyone can enter the country unchecked. Total destruction/obliteration of our social and economic system. Not suspicious yet? Or do you feel that you, and everyone else, is really being cared for and looked after? At least they're working hard on vaccines for us - vaccines, vaccines, vaccines..

Michael - if there really is a plot to shut down businesses and cause global financial disruption wouldn't it have been better to invent Covid-19 just before Christmas, a time when most businesses / bars / restaurants rely on trade to bolster them for the rest of the year?Oh and by the way, our friend is to be driven past our house this morning in a hearse as a final farewell, you know, the chap who died from this hoax flu. I'll tell his widow that I have it on great authority from Michael Brown that it was only a cold, I'm sure that will be a great comfort to her.

Its all very strange . The Torygraph are carrying an article from an Israeli Prof to the effect that the virus will die out largely after 80 days or so naturally. Is there any truth in that? That takes us into Summer and another theory is the virus does not like sunlight . Meantime a most awful mess up about the PPE and testing . Its too worrying to read . Certainly not something to get and the casualties are frightening . So many conflicting views and now I get a test from my GP saying if I am ill I must make contact. Suspect lots of ill people are not too frightened of lurgi lurking in health centres.

The live BBC COVID Update Muppet Show followed the usual course, today, with the medical officer saying that the lockdown will last for months, with the government minister not being drawn on the lockdown duration. The medical officer is not government, so why is he addressing the nation on this? It is the job of the government to make such decisions and address the nation. If he’s speaking with authority, it can only be that he is an unelected equal, and there are likely other unelected equals in this operation.
