Unbelievable

I’m sincerely shocked and horrified at the ignorance of people in Chiswick..,Sainsbury’s no one has no idea they are not the most important person in the shop and still push in front of you. Whilst walking my two dogs we passed numerous other residents, jogging, out for a daily stroll, shopping etc. I stopped every time to allow plenty of space for those to walk past at a safe distance, only one middle aged couple said thank you the rest stayed on their same path walking straight at us, then some plank on a push bike decided he’d zoom down the subway missing us by millimetres! I’m so infuriated at the sheer ignorance.. So much for clapping for the NHS!

Hi VickyI'm not at all surprised or shocked, last week, Thursday, I was in a short queue, I'm now 70, waiting for Waitrose to open at 8am for the hour they give NHS, elderly and vulnerable people, a 30'ish woman came and stood behind me. As the doors opened we walked in but the Marshall politely told the woman she couldn't shop until 9am, the woman then screamed "but I'm a Mother and I'm in a hurry, these old people have time on their hands" again the Marshall politely told her she was welcome to return at 9am. Where's the courtesy and consideration for others, this woman clearly demonstrated she only cared about her own needs and not a jot for anyone else's. Well done the Marshall for not only following company policy but for also keeping his cool.

WellI was in the self-service queue in Sainsbury's last week with three people in front of me waiting for the call as you cant always see if a till is working, free or for some no cash tills. The girl behind me seemed in a rush, with her face covered in a mask called to the lady at the front of the queue to alert her to a free checkout rather than waiting for the worker to call you "CASH OR CARD". The lady replied its card only IM PAYING WITH CASH and with that the girl behind me literally pushed her way past me to go to that till. Well, so much for the mask aspect and distancing, I blocked her with my body physically touching her in my block and told her that I'm card also and to be more patient love, yep I know, I don't naturally say love, it just coming and goes with the situation in hand in case some on here get offended with the word used. Anyway, she replied I am being patient while huffing and puffing and leaning over the back of the self-service till next to her to get a good view of whats going on. I mean,4 people in front of her including me in the self-service checkout line. The girl had to be told three times in total to be more patient. Normally id just let it go, but given the measures in place, the fact that she was kitted out in an anti-virus mask and four in front I thought, no way girl, you aren't going anywhere. HAHA Rant over

Well the next person who invades the space I respectfully keep will be in for a shock - we talk about children learning to respect and care for one another yet the very people who are supposed to be role models and demonstrating it, seem to have a very hard time not just thinking about “me”..

Not bothered by the mask,but your wearing the mask for a reason but then push by people which is not even possible without touching the person your passing.

countries who seem to have done well with managing things like Taiwan and South Korea,their specialists are saying that masks/respirators are key for both avoiding spreading the virus as well as getting infected (or getting less of the viral load if exposed)so I would not presume that anyone wearign a mask is infected,and also, many of us wold not even know, if we wereof course, we desperately need to make sure that all of our NHS, care workers, front line staff, essential service providers have the best PPE at all times, and they have priority ...........but after that need is meet, it would seem to help, incl the exposure of nhs staff, supermarket staff and so on, if we were all able to wear masks to reduce the spread of the virus, if it is impossible to remain at home (of course first/safest choice if able to stay at home)

Claudia it was pretty obvious to what Julian was pointing out, the person in question has gone out masked up to protect herself or indeed maybe others but was more than happy to flout the social distance advice for her own gain I think the term is Hypocritical...

Some people just think that they can buy their way out of anything without taking any responsibility.  Just touching that mask and touching other surfaces is a way of contaminating either and/or both.

She is a actually protecting others by wearing the mask. Sadly her other behaviours are not quite as selfless. There are a lot of people out there anxious and acting out. No excuse but tensions are high and a kind word can go a long way.

I had a walk into Chiswick today and was very aware to maintain at least the regulation distance all the while. I bought some things at the greengrocer's stall near to Waterstone's and a couple, man and woman, decided to overtake me from behind, both brushing against me on either side as they passed. I was too taken aback to actually say anything, but next time..

There are many citizens that have undiagnosed underlying conditions, no one has any right to assume they’ll be fine so they’ll just go about their usual way...

Yes, Keith but you didn’t just exercise away from other people did you. You couldn’t resist going to the greengrocers and being in close contact with other people which is totally irresponsible. You are GUILTY of possibly assisting in the spread of the virus. You people need to get a grip and STAY  AT HOME or don’t whinge when other morons invade your space.

There’s something called respect, empathy, understanding and that thing we used to call common sense. Seems a few have the extreme inability to understand many concepts. Simple rules are do not put yourself above others you’ll flaming fall, social distancing is to moderately protect everyone, you are not superior because you jog every day or are under 40 get over it. We should be in this together respecting everyone and helping where we can in a responsible and caring manner. Doesn’t take a lot.

Thanks Bob. Spot on. OMG it’s taken you a long, long time to understand that I don’t suffer fools especially in instances where they could be causing others to die. Snowflakes doesn’t come close to describing the morons and their selfish behaviour.  STAY AT HOME to SAVE LIVES.  And if you refuse to stay home because you are part of the I,I,I, me,me,me brigade, it’s time to take a long hard look at yourself. Countries winning the war against Covid-19 and reducing deaths have put a temporary halt to democracy and self righteous behaviour. Get over it. Stay at home and feel free to enjoy your keyboard war of insults forwards me for trying to get the simple message across to try save lives, especially the NHS workers who are risking themselves every day to help those who refuse to help themselves because the NEED to go out and buy those Peruvian Avocados and South African oranges at the market.

New police guidance now seems to allow driving to places to take exercise, and sitting down to 'take a rest' and eating something while you're out, and buying what you like and... So now certainty has been replaced with confusion!  That's what happens when 'common sense prevails'!

If you stay inside all the time and don't exercise you are also likely to cause problems for yourself.  There are some good exercises you can do in your home and from a chair if absolutely necessary.  It is noticeable how much stamina is lost when people move from a house with stairs to a bungalow.  Unless you adjust your diet you are also likely to end up short of Vitamin D.  An outgoing Chief Medical Officer said that we were nearly all short of Vitamin D in this country.
