Chiswick House

I was horrified today to see so many people in Chiswick house sitting on the grass having picnics. Even one group had been there so long they had delivered dominos. In the interest of making sure those of us who need Chiswick house to stay open for the very valuable once daily exercise and/or dog walk this really needs to either stop, or be fed back to these individuals. I worry a small number a being extraordinarily selfish, flaunting the lockdown rules, and hope Chiswick together will feed back to anyone seen behaving like this!

I long ago gave up the idea of taking exercise by means of a walk along Chiswick Mall. I switched to walking in Chiswick House. Now it's just the backstreets of Chiswick for me. There's absolutely no respect for social distancing, or idea of appropriate behaviour, in any of the more pleasant places to take exercise. Where are the police? From various accounts I've heard, they can be quite overbearing with motorists, but don't seem to be breaking up large concentrations in public areas.

"There's absolutely no respect for social distancing, or idea of appropriate behaviour, in any of the more pleasant places to take exercise."That wasn't my experience in Chiswick House Gardens this afternoon.  I entered from the car park, went down to the back of the lake, over the bridge, past the house, café and conservatory and out opposite Dukes Avenue.  Social distancing was well observed throughout and I saw no inappropriate behaviour.

Exactly. I've walked my dog through chiswick house most days and it has been quiet, with the vast majority of people observing social distancing with good humour.If people aren't comfortable, then go elsewhere.

The last time I went was the weekend before last, and the area from the house down to the lake was full of people sunbathing and eating & drinking, and unsupervised children running around far too close to people. Perhaps it's quieter during the week, and I should give it another go.

I'm usually there with Fifi and Barney between 6.30/7am for up to an hour,  very few people about and therefore a comparatively safe and stress free exercise period for myself and the dogs.People who have picnics, food delivered should be moved on either by Police or CH staff as they're being selfish and inconsiderate and a potential danger to others.

Got there at 6.25 and during our 45 minute walk, saw 5 dogs and their humans and 3 runners, all at a distance. All in all a very pleasant, relaxing and safe walk.
