By a country mile, Leyland SDM. Looks like a lot of DIY projects will take off. Then again, it is a very useful, competitively priced shop with a great product range.

If you can find parking the Leyland SDM on The Mall, Ealing is normally a lot quieter. I agree, a cracking shop but, oddly, many Leyland paints are often cheaper in Screwfix.

How do they remain open ?

They sell things like tools and plumbing supplies as well as paint. I think it's fair to regard things like tools and plumbing supplies as an essential. If your toilet or hot water breaks, then that is a major problem. Tools and parts to fix that are essential.I suspect that 99% of their trade is for non-essentials though. The other thing is that the government hasn't banned construction work. If contruction work is allowed, then you have to allow them to buy supplies. You can argue about whether construction work should be banned or not, but that is the current situation. The current measures do seem to be working. The number of people going into critical care has flattened off. There is a lag on that. It is going to take around 2 weeks from being infected to getting the stage where you need critical care.

It’s really useful having this store open, they have a great range of items and they do seem to be doing their best ensuring limits on numbers allowed in and distancing.

Definitely a good store always found them very helpful.Reasons why they are open seem perfectly reasonable.
