I have a dog which needs a walk.I live in Acton. My local park, Acton Park, is full of people when the sun is out. A lot of people in Acton live in flats with no outside space and the park is walking distance for them to get some air. The police don't seem to be doing their job by clearing the park (yes, yes, I know, cuts, stretched, blah, blah, I get it, they're hopeless).I live with my 90 year old father. So, when it's sunny and I know Acton Park will be busy and not policed, I drive to Gunnersbury (about 6 minutes in the car). I park happily in the quiet car park, social distancing from everybody. I walk on the grass and easily avoid all people. I then drive home. To help minimise the risk of my father catching covid from me, I feel this is a necessary journey. If the police did their job I wouldn't need to do this drive. I'd rather not bother to drive if I didn't feel I had no other choice.By closing the car park, I will either have to go to Acton Park, thus putting my health at risk and that of my 90 year old father or drive to Gunnersbury and park on the street, walking along the pavement possibly bumping into others doing the same. Closing the car park makes no sense, it just means people will park on the road, mixing with others doing the same. If they're that bothered, why not shut the park? It makes no sense to only close the car park.I go usually about 12.30 during the week and neither the park or the car park are particularly busy.
