Problems will also arise if there's widespread 'have I had it' testing, when those who are 'in the clear' will be able to go out and about as normal, not just going back to work, but strolling around arm in arm and having parties in the park, much to the annoyance of the rest of us stuck at home or trying to keep two metres apart.  Things will become impossible to police.

Its a case of a few hundred people having the same idea and that becomes the issue. Like its a nice day to go and sit on brighton beach if your in that area, but another 500 have the same idea. We will see what the news brings on Sunday evening.

If it is a virus like the flu, people can certainly get it more than once. Immunity only lasts a certain amount of time.

"So far Covid-19 is showing itself to be much more stable."Is it?  There was a report a while ago that there appeared to be two strains of Covid-19, one more aggressive than the other.  I haven't heard any more about that though.

Problem is we have too many experts being put onto the various media platforms and while they are all "experts" you tend to get a varied responce to the same issue over time.

"The second great vulnerability of the virus [ed. the first is that it can easily be destroyed by soap] is that it has to take great pains copying its genome. All RNA viruses (influenza for example) have a special enzyme that copies RNA into RNA. These RNA-dependent RNA polymerases are usually very sloppy copyists. They do not bother with proofreading and make huge numbers of errors [ed - I'm saying nothing Julian]. This high mutation rate enables them to evolve very rapidly; that's one reason we need a new flu vaccine every year. Coronaviruses have to be much more careful, or else their huge genome will accumulate too many errors. Their mutation rate is therefore lower, so we may be able to develop a fairly effective vaccine - though it will take a year or two, assuming it's possible at all".

I was thinking,if your say a family of 5 living together,is it now seen as the wrong idea to have a BBQ in the garden on Sunday,no outsiders. Would some neighbours possibly see it as wrong and inform the authorities. The curtain twitchers society with nothing better to do. Just a thought.

Well, on the basis that we BBQ all year round we are certainly doing so on Sunday. We can only hope that common sense does prevail whatever the weather.

I don’t think there is any difference from a pandemic crisis management point of view between barbecuing and cooking on your hob. Also no difference between a family eating at a table in their garden or at one in their house.

They are now saying that we should be looking at a 6 metre distance rather than a 2 metre distance as coughs and cold droplets can apparently travel rather further than they thought - surely that would have been basic research done many years ago?  So if they start to bring that in you'd have to ensure you were at least 6 metres away from any neighbours who might be in their gardens.
