who is incharge now Bojo tested positive

at least i won't have to listen to him for 2 weeks. Could this be a coup by Comming to take power i wonder!!

James Smith-Jones ● 2414d59 Comments

Cummings is already in power so no coup necessary.Be nicer to Boris,  no one deserves COVID.

Matthew Swain ● 2414d

Before people make too many smart remarks, might be worth bearing in mind that his partner is pregnant and therefore in a vulnerable group.Dominic Raab is the designated survivor.

Susan Kelly ● 2414d

If Twerp News correspondent had read to just the third line of the BBC Breaking News report he would have learned :-“He will still be in charge of the government's handling of the crisis, the statement added..”

Stuart Kerr ● 2414d

Not ideal for Boris, or any of us. Regardless of political views this is a blow. Hoping he can recover quickly. Even 'mild symptoms' of this virus can be debilitating for two weeks.

Angela Knight ● 2414d

Who decides who gets the tests that are available? People working in the NHS must be feeling gutted - they have to be a priority. Our niece's husband has been quite ill with what he thinks is Covid 19 and they have a four month old baby, but like so many others that's only a guess - no tests for them.

Vanessa Smith ● 2414d

oh dear oh dear, this being kind to one another hasn't rubbed off you which is not a surprise.See i get my news before the BBC from my bloomberg terminal as BBC is always a good 5 to 10 minutes behind. In case it passed you, i was making light of the situation. now do us all a favor pal, jog on

James Smith-Jones ● 2414d

James dear - you're attention seeking again..and spouting nonsense.  Give it a rest.  PLEASE...

Stuart Kerr ● 2414d

please please, tell me where this attention seeking thing you keep banging on about come from Stuey boy. you don't know me and i can assure you I don't need to come on this forum to seek attention. please, lets get to the bottom of this because i am intrigued

James Smith-Jones ● 2414d

Grrrrrr...Now look here James, you creep of a pillock....STOP calling people names on here.  To you my name is Stuart!  The other day I saw you refer to Elizabeth Ross as Lizzy Dross.  Just because she had the nerve to smack your ears (which you thoroughly deserved)!  The lady's a very long time and extremely valued poster on here.I should have shot you dead then.  But lucky for you I was far too busy! You've also name-called quite a few others too.  Long term posters who are clearly your betters. You ARE an attention-seeking pillock and a pest.  And you prove it every time you go near your keyboard to post on here.ALSO stop all this crap about being NICE.  There's nothing nice about you except you're being  a harmless idiotic  twit going round pretending he is nice and reminding everyone to be nice to everyone every five minutes...  You're all pretend and pretend and pretend.Grrrr..Now grow up damn you!  And then you might just about learn how to quietly behave yourself and make proper contributions to this place...

Stuart Kerr ● 2414d

or could this be an attempt by Boris to get the sympathy vote, as his handling of the situation is IMO not been great. For the record i wish both him and his girlfriend the very best and would not wish this on ANYONE.

James Smith-Jones ● 2414d

As far as I can see, despite your protestations, Mr Smith Jones, you were the only one to be sarcastic.  Everyone else seemed to hope he is not too badly affected, despite not being especial fans.

Micki Hawkes ● 2414d

Jimmy Smitty-Jones, shut down your computer and go into the garden and play some wiff waff with your youthful offspring.

Richard Greenhough ● 2414d

I hope you're not suggesting that it was inappropriate for the PM to be tested, Vanessa? Because I think it was pretty basic.Prince Charles, now, that's another matter.

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

And to think some still insist cummings is running the country. Its utter codswallop Stop reading those blooming biased papers you take a line with and stop reading all these blooming social media posts. We seem to have some right keyboard planks at the moment. And to improve your health over utter boredom, stay away from the online version of the Daily mail and the Guardian. ENJOY

Julian Pavey ● 2413d

If you put Boris into google Vanessa is on the front page 😮What a keyboard plank i am

Julian Pavey ● 2413d

So that's my point who is making the decision as to who gets tested? As it happens I do think it was 'inappropriate' - why couldn't Johnson do what the rest of us have been told to do. If you think you may have it - then self isolate - simples.

Vanessa Smith ● 2413d

I have no problem with Phil the Greek and Johnson being tested.  The roles they fulfil require it. And I really not wish the virus on anyone. My concern is that as Johnson has a record of lying are we sure that we can believe him? Although he is still in charge , he won’t be doing the daily briefing where he has really not been impressive at all. He gets out of doing that.

Stewart Jones ● 2413d

No-one wishes this thing on anyone - but when it comes down to it all the talk of 'all being in this together' just ain't so is it? Why not practice what you preach?

Vanessa Smith ● 2413d

It wasn't Phil the Greek who was tested, it was Big Ears.

Ken Munn ● 2413d

pathetic, see you are obsessed with me as you are always banging on about my attention seeking whenever i post. tell you what Stuey Boy, why don't you and your pal Dicky Greentrough just ignore my posts and you won't need to get yourself all worked up.

James Smith-Jones ● 2413d

'why couldn't Johnson do what the rest of us have been told to do. If you think you may have it - then self isolate - simples.'Because he's the Prime Minister. The head of government. Running the show. If he'd tested negative then he could have carried on without having to lock himself away.Prince Charles, on the other, has no real role, and was already hiding himself away on one of his estates.

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

Susan, the Prince of Wales is Heir to the Throne, and whatever your opinion of him, wouldn't you prefer him as Head Of State or  would you prefer Harold  Wilson, Ted Heath, James Callaghan, John Major, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, David Callaghan, Nick Clegg, David Cameron and Theresa May to have had the job?

Roger Talbot ● 2413d

can you please inform me where in my original post did i wish ill health on Boris and his girlfriend. all i said was i will not miss hearing his voice for 2 weeks which would suggest he would be back after his 2 weeks of self isolation. Over to you

James Smith-Jones ● 2413d

Gosh there are some uncharitable people on this forum. Vanessa I can’t believe your post, Boris is PM and absolutely should be tested if he shows symptoms. I think he is doing an incredible job under extraordinary circumstances, stop being so judgemental people not sure any of us would like to be in that job right now. Charles does an enormous about of work for the country and young people, gosh such ignorance or is it just green eye his estate does look rather good to self isolate.

Jayne Thorburn ● 2413d

Believe it. You are entitled to your opinion - my point was that in spite of this sudden 'we're all in this together' nonsense - it is still clearly one rule for some and different rules for others. I cannot see any reason at all why Johnson couldn't have used the advice he's been dishing out to us -  if you think you have any symptoms stay in and self isolate, as thousands are doing. If there are testing kits available then health staff have to be prioritised.

Vanessa Smith ● 2413d

Agree Jayne, of course he should be tested.

Janice Evans ● 2413d

Roger, I am not arguing for a Republic. Charles apparently has minor symptoms and was already self-isolating. It was therefore not necessary that he be tested the way it was necessary for the Prime Minister.Even if he did die of it, there is a clear line of succession after him. A long one.

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

Stewart, sorry but you are weird and out of line, mate. You need a regular reality check. From your posts on here, several times a day.  Good luck and look after your mental health.

Claire Moran ● 2413d

Oh dear, Jimmy Smitty-Jonah, if you are thinking that SK and I are pals then you really have lost it.

Richard Greenhough ● 2413d

Charles is over 70, so in vulnerable group, heir to the throne absolutely he should be tested if showing symptoms. He contributes more to society and revenues than the whole of Chiswick.

Jayne Thorburn ● 2413d

How, Jayne?

Claire Moran ● 2413d

Some people would make better use of their time curating their new bog roll and dried pasta collections.

Ben Halloren ● 2413d

Some people would make better use of their time curating their new bog roll and dried pasta collections.

Ben Halloren ● 2413d

I don't believe Johnson has it for one pico second. Or Hancock either. My BS detector equipment blew up at these announcements.⁶

David Roberts ● 2413d

why you gone all quiet Hawkes, guess you realise how daft you now look. Oh well.

James Smith-Jones ● 2413d

"I don't believe Johnson has it for one pico second. Or Hancock either. My BS detector equipment blew up at these announcements"Do you actually believe that or is it your political line?

Paul Fisher ● 2413d

It comes to something when people question whether the PM is telling the truth about whether or not he has  the virus. Surely, this is an inevitable consequence of electing a man within a proven record of lying throughout his personal and professional life when it is expedient.

Stewart Jones ● 2413d

Johnson didn't look or sound very ill, and he referred to a 'persistent cough' yet didn't cough once.

Michael Brown ● 2413d

The only doubters are those still hoping desperately to change peoples political opinions which to be frank is extremely sad and pathetic in this crisis

Paul Fisher ● 2413d

I totally disagree, Paul.  Attempts such as yours to shut down political dissent or debate is authoritarian and anti-democratic.  It is at least as important as ever that we continue to put our views forward and discuss where society is or should be headed.  We may not like everybody else’s views but we need to keep listening, thinking and talking.

Alastair Banton ● 2413d

I do not doubt that Johnson or the others have symptoms - and as for the cough - you often cough more if you're lying down. I just think that taking the advice that's been dished out to the rest of us would have been a good example of real Leadership.

Vanessa Smith ● 2413d

Michael - you promised tanks on the streets as soon as the lockdown took place.  Well it has, where are they?

Viv Griffiths ● 2413d

The 'left-wing woke' active on twitter 24/7 trying to get into your brain cells to cause and spread division for its next go at being in power. Bit like the CCP in a way To think that Boris is lying over having caught covid 19,well in my book without any political slant, your brain cells need re-charging. Planks of the highest degree they are. You certainly dont need a healthy debate in society when these people are part of that debate. Plankary it is

Julian Pavey ● 2413d

Not a fan but I wish him a speedy recovery, more importantly I think many people's political opinions will have been changed by this crisis.

David Burke ● 2413d

Julian, take a deep breath and re-read what you have just written.  It makes no sense.  First you mention the ‘left wing woke’, whoever they are, but I get that you disapprove of them.  Then you say that they are trying to gain power. Isn’t every political group who is not currently in power?  Then you say they are like the CCP, who are in power already so it’s an odd analogy. Now I’m not saying Johnson is lying about his health, but even the most dyed in the blue conservative must surely admit that he has a history of lying.  So it’s not unreasonable that some people are suspicious. And as for your statement ‘you don’t need a healthy debate in society when these people are part of the debate’ - well that’s as clear a defence of dictatorship as I’ve read in a long time. And stop calling people ‘planks’.  When you point a finger at others you are pointing three at yourself as my mother used to say.  Please understand that people with views you dislike deserve to be heard just as much as you do.

Alastair Banton ● 2413d

I take your point, Susan, and thankyou for making it.And I pity the poor (well, very rich) sod who would succeed him!

Roger Talbot ● 2413d

However, Corona is a mild virus, so Johnson may have full blown edition. All a scam, you fools. You'll never learn, not even when the pen gate slams shut behind you.

Michael Brown ● 2413d

Me too, Roger. If there was a referendum on keeping the monarchy, I would be tempted to vote No for their sakes. No family should have to live in that goldfish bowl. You have only to look at the recent mess with Harry and Meghan.

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

They're invisible tanks, Viv. That what makes them so effective.

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

Stop being so reasonable, Al! Where do you think you are?

Susan Kelly ● 2413d

It is all about how one works to get into your mind. The CCP plays mind games on its own people to stay in power. That means that they choose to lie and shut down the opposition in many ways. These days its social media propaganda by the CCP. It is now the white people who are to blame, those foreigners. The left-wing woke are those on the left who take fakeness in order to push an agenda especially with the younger people in society while at the same time shutting down the opposition using the likes of discrimination and injustice within society to shut the very opposition down in a debate, even where it does not even exist. Of course, you have the gammon or the snowflakes. Its a false agenda that possibly would have not existed or gained attraction if the past had had an alternative outcome but you can't predict the future either. But you certainly can't have any faith in a political group that pushes that false agenda for power to shut people down by way of propaganda. Propaganda has never done any society favors except within the field of battle. The latest with Boris is just that, propaganda while using other alternatives to shut others down like using just one word.Don't get me wrong, the far-right use the same methods.

Julian Pavey ● 2413d

Sometimes I wonder, Susan.

Alastair Banton ● 2413d

Darling Michael, when it comes to being a fool you win the cup every time.

Viv Griffiths ● 2413d

Every time Michael posts on this thread, it is followed immediately by a post from the same woman. Is that trolling?

Stewart Jones ● 2413d

Sorry Julian, I find all this no more intelligible than your last posting.  You just seem to be giving some of your vaguely right wing prejudices an airing with little reference to any concrete evidence.  And you keep complaining about others trying to silence opposition but see no contradiction when you do the same.  And still the name calling - gammons, snowflakes. But carry on.  It’s your right.

Alastair Banton ● 2413d

I said it before to yourself.I give up.

Julian Pavey ● 2413d

Believe it or not, Mr Smith Jones, even in these difficult times, some of us have other things to do, rather than sit hunched over this website, waiting to chip in with our two-pennyworth. To start a post about someone's illness, with a fairly sarcastic remark, hardly smacks of  kindness - the lack of which you accuse others of.

Micki Hawkes ● 2413d

I wouldn’t expect to see an enforced lockdown any time soon. The only known data available on how humans react to enforced lockdown is the Black Death. As the outcome was humans murdered the guards so they could go out, I doubt they would even consider it.It might be worth watching India, they appear to be trialling Black Death 1.01 for the world at the moment.  Most other countries have said you must not go out unless you want to, in countries where the only option is to take a dog for a walk, they have been sharing the dogs with their neighbours so they can all still go out.

Colin Potter ● 2413d

To start the post about someone's illness..........err let us see original post Hawkeye."at least i won't have to listen to him for 2 weeks. Could this be a coup by Comming to take power i wonder!!"Errr where have I touched about someone's illness, I MADE A JOKE ABOUT NOT HAVING TO LISTEN TO HIM FOR 2 WEEKS. Here you go, in capital letters for you to read. See Hawksy, you write like someone else I know who is always trying to hijack the forum or perhaps you are one of his fwends!
