highlights of working from home

Happy Friday everyone and thought I might start on a positive note this morning. After my first full week working from home I would say it has had its challenges but on the whole it has been positive. Mrs S-J and I have enjoyed our daily walk  sans telephones in the beautiful sunshine, strictly observing social distancing, appreciating the spring bloom smells and not talking about that Mexican beer!! I get an extra hour in bed everyday and have been in the back garden playing ping pong with the youngest at 5pm. If we take the positives, this isolation thing is actually a positive thing for families to reconnect, anyway, that's how we are are looking at it and so far so good. Keep safe everyone and be nice to one another but more importantly be positive.

Great post. It’s hard to read or watch anything with a positive view at the moment. We too are adapting to our new way of life and there are many upsides. We have more time to sit and talk.  Using Houseparty and a Zoom apps We have had cyber dinner parties with friends and family all over the world. No one has been too busy to accept the invitations. We are counting our blessings and certainly appreciating things more rather than taking for granted.  Watching the spring slowly unfold and enjoying some quiet and calm. Stay safe everyone.

Bit of strange feeling this morning, i think it is knowing it is the weekend but it's not going to be the same. So, positive thinking. I would normally go for my long walk ending at the Grove park deli for breakfast and the Times. Today, brisk walk as usual back home and home made bacon n sausage butty, strong coffee with iPad newspaper sitting outside. Got to figure out live sports events which I am missing. Have a great WEEKEND everyone

Nothing to do with WFH but oddly things I will miss when life returns to normal will be the majority of the q's being fairly orderly, the social distancing when being in a q (nothing worse than somebody standing so close it's like they are trying to crawl up your backside!), people being polite and smiling at each other.

Always enjoyed the odd day working from home in the past but its only been five days for me and as we are fairly quiet I am already waiting for the day to return to the officeOnly good news is I am still getting some decent orders so have been promised full pay until I do

I have worked mainly from home with a group of fellow home-based freelancers as a virtual team for over 20 years.  I love it so things have barely changed at all for me apart from a drastically reduced social life - but then no client meetings to go to in person either, all now virtual, which suits me fine.  Oh, and the difficulty of getting online deliveries!  We have got a great Whatsapp group going in our street and are all helping one another which is lovely to see, and also including those that aren't online of course.

Well, i can survive without the horses but lack of sport in general is an issue. Particularly football and more to the point French Ligue 2 on a Friday evening at 7 pm. I like to search and play where the value lies because of the lack of goals. It is all about getting value these days. The only football at the moment is  Belarus premier league and  Nicaragua  Primera Division which none of the two can excite me enough. You do have horse racing still going ahead in the states but you really need to subscribe to speed figures to have an edge as its all about sectional timing out in the US. Il give it a miss Roger. Im sure many people are missing sport,my late nan would sit down and watch any sport on TV over anything esle.Its what kept her going,her entertainmment. It was a sad day when she could no longer renew her season ticket at 74 due to not being able to get out and about so easily.

Ha Complete Bonkers. That is down to the bookmakers being worried with turnover and not knowing when it will return. ITV possibly drumming up some advertising revenue from the bookmakers which the bookies in return  hope to cash in on. No doubt we possibly will see those who are not so secure going to the ground in time. I actually wonder if some of our bookmakers in w4 and saroundings araes will reopen given the huge downturn in high road punters anyway Plenty of Esports if thats your game

Bob, most days in a Ladbrokes you'll see more screened virtual racing than actual racing. And you'll see plenty of morons betting on it.

I know nothing about virtual racing, but it does surprise me that its shown bookies and as you say, morons bet on it. The only time I go into a bookies is when my wife cajoles me into putting her Irish lottery tickets in.I have never been a betting man except for the few times (no more than 5) in my 70+ years when I've been to the course.I only posted because I saw JP's post about racing and the ad came up on a friends FB page a short while after.
