Resident parking permit not arrived - what to do?

Apologies for the somewhat trivial post in these times. But I have a new car and while my resident permit has been approved and paid for,  it hasn't arrived and with the current state of the post and possibly the Serco office - it may not arrive for ages.  How does one communicate to the traffic wardens that the car is parked legitimately and not to bury it in tickets.  I have put the email with the approval in the front window - will that work?

Are you Ealing or Hounslow?  If Hounslow see if one of your Councillors will help.

If Ealing your permit is virtual so nothing will be sent to you. The general opinion of locals is that enforcement of CPZs has stopped but no announcement has been made. If this is wrong and you get a ticket let us know and I'll get my pitchfork ready to storm the town hall when this is all over along with big crowd of others.

I am afraid it is Hounslow - and they are definitely continuing to enforce the CPZs - last time I checked... and they still have a paper permit. Thank you for the pitchfork suggestion!

Thanks so much for all the responses and PMs so far - just to be clear- for once I am not railing against Serco or Hounslow Council.  My concern is that my paper permit may have got stuck in the post (there is so little coming through) or that Serco's current work set up might mean they can't post permits. So my permit has been approved and paid for - it just may not arrive for some time and as it is a new car (I was without a car for 18 months) I don't have an old permit to display.  That's the issue.  I have put the documentation in the windscreen...I know a minor issue in the scheme of things!

In the scheme of things nothing is minor when dealing with bureaucracy but should you get a or many tickets you will be able to argue that you did everything possible to comply and have proof that the new permit was paid for, issued but not received.

You can ask Serco to give you a Temporary Number to display in your windscreen

Good morning Cllr,CEOs have been advised to check the system, and if a permit has been issued then they will not ticket.

At 10.30am I PM'd Jackie with the name and email address of the person at Serco in Park Royal who could resolve this problem.

Thank you so much  for all the great help I have had with this. My permit has now arrived and there were no PCNs. So both servo and the post are working. And LBH  without all it’s meetings has proved very responsive.
