There is a specific group for Chiswick on Facebook with over 800 members and very helpful https://www.facebook.com/groups/546580412924330/?ref=share

Apart from all the existing reasons to steer clear of Facebook it might be an idea to exercise some caution with these groups that are springing up. The overwhelming number of people joining them are doing so with the best of intentions but there are alreadys some reports of criminals using them to target the vulnerable. Also people are finding that the 'help' given can be counterproductive with cases of volunteers entering elderly people's flats despite their plea to stay outside. After this is all over is a handy database of potential victims being created for scam artists. The better option is invite only WhatsApp groups. This is still part of Facebook and comes with all the issues that that creates but I've had no choice other than to join as that is what my neighbours are using. This means information about who needs help is shared privately and among people who are known to each other personally. If you are not already a member of one, the chances are there is one in existence on your street so shout across to your neighbours and ask.
