Whenever I come back from the vet, I stand on a black plastic bag just inside the front door, take all my external clothes off and put them in a plastic bag to put them in the wash after a few days (having given time hopefully for any corona to subside) and have a shower and wash my hair. I leave my shoes outside for a few hours and then bring them in and put them on newspaper. I try to avoid touching my purse or credit cards for a few days and put disinfectant on my keys. The cat carrier stays on newspaper or a black bag in the hall for several days. The coronavirus that cats get, which in some mutates and always kills them when it does, is incredibly contagious through inhalation (by the cat) and can cling to human clothes, skin, hair, shoes, bags etc and to animal fur and I can't risk passing it on to my other cats. So guess I am used to being paranoid about coronvirus - a stunning little rescue cat (almost all rescue cats will have it as they almost always in close, crowded proximity to one another) from a local rescue centre died of the mutated version before she was even six months old. It was years ago, but it haunts you forever once you have experienced it. She died all alone at the vet, and that too haunts me.
