Waterstones Closing Stores Today Including Chiswick High Road
At the risk of attracting the wrath of the COVID Taliban I do think this is bad news particularly on the heels of the library closure.For those that can't afford or don't have the facility to have Netflix books were going to be the fall back during what looks set to be a sustained period indoors. Not everyone is able to order on Amazon so some people will have to rely on the stock of books they already have. Some might question whether books are essential and I believe they will be. Stephen Foster has apparently set up a book exchange outside his store so you might still be able to get something there. While getting provisions I will try and drop off some items there and would urge others to do the same. Usual footnote in a attempt to stave off coronavirus self-righteousness, I do have people in high risk categories in my life and I would always be extremely careful when going out even if it is 'only' for a book.
