Markets are continuing at the moment. London Farmers Markets, who run the majority in London were open at the weekend. As Bernard says, on the continent they have been the last things to close, as they are providing food. We stood down the none food stalls, the plants and coffee stall from yesterdays market, which was hard on one of them, as their business is struggling. The easiest, last effort, option for the Trust would be to close, but I am not sure that that is the right thing to do, as people need to buy food and farmers / producers need to sell it. It is a good option to get food in this part of Chiswick, which is some way from the High Road.It would be very helpful to have some government guidance on whether food markets, like supermarkets should continue. Also on whether just one person should go out to buy food. That direction has, I believe, been given in other countries, but not here. We could request that, but if the government is telling people that is what they have to do, it is hard to enforce.
