Latex gloves. Do they provide any form of protection?

Without wishing to fan the "don't panic! don't panic!" scenario, after my Sainsbury's shop this morning, it occurred to me that would it not be a good idea for supermarkets to provide latex gloves for their till handlers who are constantly handling hundreds of grubby bank notes/coins/customers' hands from trolley handles/baskets etc etc? The Government is urging us to take precautions with washing hands vigorously. Surely staff with latex gloves would provide some extra protection, to both them and us?

No. Because it's the touching of our faces that does the deed. It doesn't matter whether you're touching your face with gloves on or not, the germs do their thing from Latex or our own skin.

Avoiding use of cash, using tap to pay, would minimise contact at point of payment.

I purchased my mask today. Its good as you only have to zip open rather than removing to eat a sandwich and a tiny hole for a straw. It looks so good i might go for the full outfit if it gets worse.
