There is only one thing worse than a "ready salted" or blue bag crisp, and that is a plain crisp.Quite honestly, the world owes an enormous debt of gratitude to two Irishmen, Joe "Spud" Murphy and Seamus Burke, who devised the technology in the 1950's to add seasoning to crisps during the manufacturing process at their company, "Tayto". (Google it)Their first efforts were Cheese & Onion and Salt & Vinegar, to this day the standard by which all new crisp flavours must be judged. In fact, I'd say only Walkers Sensations "Roast Chicken & Thyme" deserves elevation to the same Classic Status. So that were I ever to be invited to appear on "Desert Island Crisps", I wouldn't need 8 choices, those three would suffice, with maybe only Prawn Cocktail added, should a fourth be forced upon me.
